Northrop Grumman Defense Systems has an immediate opening for a Japan Global Hawk Site Manager 2 in the Global Autonomous & Tactical Solutions Operating Unit. This position will support the Japan Global Hawk Program Manager and their staff to support meeting overall business objectives. The role will be a full-time, onsite position located at Misawa, Japan as the Japan Global Hawk Site Manager. The Site Manager is the onsite direct point of contact for program activities in coordination with the Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF), Japan Ministry of Defense (JMOD) and the USAF Global Hawk Program Office; serves as the principal representative in all matters pertaining to operations and maintenance of the Japan Global Hawk System at Misawa Air Base.
Job Attributes/Responsibilities
- Responsible for personnel, operational support, training, supply systems, and support services necessary for specific site contracts
- Provides sufficient and viable contract performance through effective leadership of the site, including compliance with quality and safety/environmental standards
- Meets or exceeds all performance requirements. Effectively manages employee issues that may arise. Communicates new requirements, concerns, and issues to the PMO for resolution
- Provides for the welfare of the personnel and the enhancement of the contract, including optimizing the balance between resources of manpower, equipment, time, and materials
- Responsible for keeping the Company, Corporate Management, and Customer’s personnel apprised of the current status of operations and maintenance
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned
- Ability to communicate knowledgeably and effectively at senior management levels. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a large and diverse workforce. Skilled in operations, logistics, and resource management
- Ability to respond rapidly and sufficiently to changing requirements, unexpected contingencies, and other challenging situations
- Ability to manage available resources in time-sensitive situations
- Ensure that good housekeeping practices are observed; tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times
- Strong communication, team building and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, upper management and customers
This position will be a long-term expatriate opportunity. This position will include Flight Arrangement(s), Household Good Shipment, HOLA, COLA and other incentives for working this assignment overseas.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of aircraft flight operations and/or maintenance experience to include 5 years in a managerial and supervisory position managing high performance aircraft during high tempo operations or 14 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Demonstrated understanding of the aviation flight & maintenance process from aircraft recovery through aircraft launch
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have a US Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Former Global Hawk Instructor Pilot or Pilot; Global Hawk Maintenance Manager experience
- Education: Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline from an accredited university and/or equivalent military experience
- Ability to work seamlessly through subcontractors to meet the contract goals
- Customer Liaison, Project or Program Management Experience
Salary Range: $114,100.00 – $171,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
