ACSL Unveils TENSO: The Next-Gen Smart Controller for SOTEN Drones
Enhanced Usability, Durability, and Connectivity for Field Operation
Japanese dronemaker ACSL Inc. recently announced their newest offering- TENSO, a new smart controller for their SOTEN drone, which is also receiving some major updates. The new TENSO controller uses the same AES256 encryption communication protocol between it and the drone as the standard unit, but adds a touchscreen and extended connectivity options. Weighing in at only 2.3 lbs, its ready for field operations, designed to be dust and splash resistant with an IP43 rating and optimized for temperatures ranging from 14°F to 104°F.
“We know that having a dedicated smart controller makes a significant difference in the ease of use, efficiency, and performance when working in the field,” said Cynthia Huang, CEO of ACSL, Inc. “TENSO is a welcome addition to our lineup as we expand the SOTEN footprint in North America, bringing on more customers seeking a robust ecosystem that matches their needs.”
The 5” display offers a 1080p resolution and up to 1000 nits of brightness, ideal for a wide range of scenarios including direct sunlight. The maximum 2.5 mile operating range, combined with 2.4 GHz operating frequency and WiFi and LTE compatibility, allows for extended and reliable connectivity. Any combination of up to three standard and smart controllers can be simultaneously linked to a SOTEN during live operations. TENSO will be available for purchase in September for $2800 USD and as part of select SOTEN operation ready bundles.
Since the SOTEN was released, it has received significant upgrades to its functionality, as well as continuing its compliance with federal aviation laws and standards. The new updates to the SOTEN drone include full compliance with RemoteID standards, significantly reduced video latency, new controls for the gimbal system, direct exposure control, and universal compatibility with a broader range of Android-based devices.
