South Korea has established itself as a world leader in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), focusing not only on developing the technology but also on building community engagement. FIX 2024 is designed to foster collaboration between industries and engage the public by exhibiting innovations in mobility, robotics, and information and communication technologies (ICT). As industries evolve and boundaries blur, this expo seeks to foster collaboration and display advancements that are paving the way for tomorrow.

A Platform for Innovation

Daegu’s focus on fostering new industrial policies has led to the city hosting the expo as a place where the latest global industry trends can converge. Building on its history of successful exhibitions, including the Daegu International Future Auto & Mobility Expo (DIFA), Daegu has now expanded to create FIX 2024—a large-scale exhibition bringing together key industry leaders and technological innovators.

FIX 2024 will feature four dedicated halls: the Mobility Hall, Robot Hall, ABB Hall, and Startup Hall. Each hall will focus on different sectors, offering visitors a comprehensive view of emerging technologies.

Mobility Hall: Driving the Future

The Mobility Hall will highlight the latest innovations in the mobility industry. Technologies such as electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, and autonomous driving will be showcased, with major players like Hyundai, Kia, Samsung SDI, and GM participating. The goal is to provide hands-on experiences with future technologies, including SDVs (Software Defined Vehicles), PBVs (Purpose Built Vehicles), and concept cars.

In addition to the vehicle displays, a promotional booth for the upcoming Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport and a UAM experience center will be available for visitors, offering interactive virtual reality experiences.

Robotics and ICT at the Forefront

The Robot Hall, featuring global companies such as Rainbow Robotics and Bear Robotics, will focus on showcasing manufacturing robots, AI-powered robots, and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). As part of Korea’s National Robot Test Field Project, this hall aims to position Korea as one of the top three robot-producing nations globally.

Meanwhile, the ABB Hall will emphasize the role of ICT in driving future industries, with a focus on AI, blockchain, big data, and the metaverse. This section will also highlight Daegu’s status as a digital innovation hub, with plans for an 800-billion-won AI data center in the works.

Mayor Hong Joon-pyo stated, “We are preparing FIX 2024 to become a global specialized exhibition comparable to the world’s top three IT exhibitions. We will spare no effort to establish Daegu as a central city for new industries through this event.”

Startup Hall and Global Conferences

The Startup Hall is a new addition to the expo, providing a platform for innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. With the participation of Plug and Play, the world’s largest accelerator, the hall will offer startup pitching events, networking opportunities, and investment discussions.

Simultaneously, international conferences will be held, with sessions covering key topics like UAM, robotics, AI, and cybersecurity. The expo aims to attract over 450 companies and 2,000 booths across 30,000 square meters of exhibition space.

In addition to the technology displays, visitors will be able to enjoy cultural experiences, including tours of Daegu’s art scene and historical sites. DRONELIFE will be on-site covering this exciting event, and we’ll keep our readers posted with the latest developments.

FIX 2024 is set to be a major event for the tech world, bringing together a global audience to explore the future of innovation. The exhibition runs until October 26, with conferences wrapping up on October 25.
