Elegoo Mars 5 and Mars 5 Ultra: Budget Resin 3D printers with high-end features

elegoo mars 5 and mars 5 ultra budget resin 3d printers with high end features

Elegoo, our favorite 3D printer brand, just announced the release of two new budget resin 3D machines. While the Mars 5 “Standard” is equipped with a 6.6-inch 4K Mono LCD, the more advanced Mars 5 Ultra with a 7-inch 9K Mono LCD. A higher resolution means, better accuracy, finesse, and print quality. The price difference between the two models of the Mars 5 series is about 100 bucks.

Besides the LCD screen, which is the heart of a resin 3D printer, there are other significant differences between these two models. Both features One-Click Automatic Leveling, Self-Check & Overheat Protection, and Smart Mechanical Sensor but only the Mars 5 Ultra has an AI camera that detect print errors such as warping and empty plate. Furthermore the camera allows remote monitoring and time-lapse videos.

As most resins are toxic and have bad odor, both Elegoo Mars 5 models can be equipped with active air filters.

The COB Light Source behind the LCD acts like a heat source and can damage the price screen. To avoid premature failure, Elegoo equipped these two new machines with advanced overheat protection. When the LED temperature exceeds 80℃, the intelligent system triggers an alarm and halts printing automatically, ensuring enhanced safety and extended lifespan.
