New 19,000 Square Foot Facility to Advance Aerospace Research and Development

Osage Nation’s Skyway36 Droneport and Technology Innovation Center has commenced the construction of WindShape’s new 19,000 square foot unmanned aerospace (UAS) testing facility. This development marks a significant advancement in WindShape’s efforts to innovate within the aerospace sector through comprehensive research, development, testing, inspection, certification, and validation processes.

“The commencement of construction for our state-of-the-art testing facility at Skyway36 marks a pivotal moment for WindShape,” stated Nicolas Bosson, Chief Operating Officer at WindShape. “With the support of Osage Nation, Osage LLC and other partners, we are enthusiastic about the possibilities that lie ahead and are poised to further elevate our research and development to set new benchmarks for performance, safety, and reliability in the emerging aerospace industry.”

Located less than five miles from downtown Tulsa and ten miles from Tulsa International Airport, Skyway36 is a key UAS testing center within Osage Nation. It serves as the main access point to Skyway Range, a 1,200 square mile Beyond-Visual-Line-of-Sight UAS flight test range developed in partnership with Osage LLC, Oklahoma State University, and Tulsa Innovation Labs.

“The construction of the WindShape testing facility at Skyway36 represents just the beginning of our vision for the development of this area. We’d like to thank WindShape’s leadership for seeing the promise and opportunities at Skyway36 and look forward to the future. This facility will undoubtedly be a significant asset, not only for advancing drone technology but also for fostering economic growth and innovation within our community,” said Russell Goff, CEO of Osage, LLC.

Chief Standing Bear, Principal Chief of the Osage Nation, also expressed optimism about the project, stating, “The Osage Nation sees immense promise in the emerging aerospace industry, and WindShape’s presence at Skyway36 signifies the start of great things for both the company and our Nation.
