Skydio discount program saves military, police and firefighters $100

Here’s a straightforward way to earn a Skydio discount — as long as you’re eligible.

Skydio, the company famous for its made-in-America, follow-me drones including the Skydio 2 drone, this summer introduced a new Military + First Responder discount program. If you’re an eligible military service member, veteran or first responders, you’re entitled to claim $100 off any Skydio 2+ Kit that you purchase directly from Skydio’s website.

The Skydio 2 is an incredibly smart, follow-me drone. Equipped with six, 200-degree color cameras, Skydio 2 can see everything in every direction so it theoretically never crashes.

The following groups qualify for the Skydio discount:

Military: United States and Canada

  • Active duty – currently serving
  • Veterans – who formerly served
  • Dependents (spouse or child of above)

First Responders: United States and Canada

  • Law Enforcement (police, deputies, federal LEO)
  • Firefighters (county, city, wilderness)
  • EMT / EMS nurses
  • Doctors in public service
  • Retired first responders

Skydio’s discount runs through identity verification provider VerifyPass to ensure you truly serve or have served in the military, or as a first responder.

How to get the Skydio discount for military and first responders

To get the discount, you’ll have to head to the Skydio Exclusive Discounts webpage. Once there, click the “Get Code” button, upon which you’ll be redirected to VerifyPass, which requires you to create a separate account (or you can login with an existing Facebook or Google account).

Most VerifyPass verifications are nearly instant, but in some cases, you might have to upload identifying documents such as a DD-214, Official ID from Veteran’s Affairs, a Veteran’s Driver’s License (not all States offer this), G.I. Bill documents, a Promotion Certificate or Award Certificate

VerifyPass sends you a unique, single-use discount code to your email address, which you can apply during the checkout page when buying a Skydio 2+ Kit directly from Skydio.

The Skydio 2+ Starter Kit starts at just $1,099, meaning you’ll pay $999 with your discount. On the highest end, you might go for the $2,169 Skydio 2+ Pro Kit, taking your rate down to $2,069.

A couple caveats: Stand-alone accessories and accessory upgrades are not eligible for the discount. It’s also not valid in combination with other discounts. You’re also limited to just one code a month — but there’s no limit on how many months you can use the code. You could slowly outfit your company’s fleet with discount Skydio drones, or maybe get one for now, and continuously gift discount drones to friends throughout the year.

For everyone else who doesn’t qualify for the discount, hang on tight. Skydio has bee known to host occasional other sales throughout the year. At the beginning of this year, I worked with Skydio to get Drone Girl readers an exclusive discount of $50 off for a limited time (and maybe that’ll happen again, who knows?!). And during the 2021 holiday season, Skydio put its drone kits on sale for an incredible $400 off.
