In a recent announcement, High Eye revealed it has been awarded a contract by the Dutch Navy for its Airboxer VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). This decision comes after a comprehensive evaluation of maritime VTOL UAV systems, leading to the selection of the Airboxer due to its adaptability to the maritime environment.

The Airboxer UAV has been developed over a decade, refined through dedication and expertise in UAV technology. The Dutch Navy’s selection marks a significant endorsement of High Eye’s Airboxer as a leading solution in the field.

Joost de Ruiter, CEO of High Eye, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: “The selection of the Airboxer is a milestone for High Eye. We are committed to becoming a long-term partner of the Dutch Navy. Integrating different payloads and embedding them in naval operations will be a valuable learning experience that will elevate our cooperation to the next level.”

De Ruiter also noted the broader implications of the contract for the company, stating, “It is great news for us that after winning an international tender from the Ministry of Defense, High Eye has now signed a contract with the Royal Navy. We see this as a reward for the hard work of our team and, above all, as an encouragement to continue.” This contract positions High Eye to enhance its presence on an international scale, especially among NATO countries.
