Promotion of the lower airspace economy (LAE) in Greece by the World UAV Federation!

A visit of great importance to Athens, Greece was made by the Chairman of the World UAV Federation Mr. Jincai Yang, with the main purpose of supporting Greek entrepreneurship in the field of drones and advanced digital technologies by the organization of 1st Automation- Robotics & Drones EXPO ( ) that is planned to be held at the Metropolitan EXPO between 12-14 April 2024.

On 18-19 November 2023, the Chinese Chairman of the World UAV Federation Mr. Jincai Yang was hosted in Athens, Greece by World UAV Federation-GREECE and President Mr. John Dagklis with a small delegation from China and Germany to attend scheduled meetings in order to support entrepreneurship in the drone sector in Greece with specific planned initiatives within 2024.

The international WUAVF delegation made a short visit to 2 member companies as well as to the Vocational Training Center “AXIA” where all training takes place under the auspices of the World UAV Federation.

Chairman Yang also awarded the DRONE PHOTOGRAPHY & DRONE PILOT OF THE YEAR 2023 awards at a special event at the Royal Olympic Hotel under the organization of PhotoNet magazine & Nexus Media S.A.

The impressions were excellent from the presentation at the facilities of Spirit Aeronautical Systems (S.A.S) and the Operational Center of the Municipality of Voula-Vouliagmeni, where a night drone flight was demonstrated by the company Vanguard Risk Group under the supervision and directions of CEO Mr. Manos Angelakis.

Chairman Yang also gave a short interview to Security Manager magazine on the adoption of drones and high technologies in the security sector.

During the short visit, His Excellency the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Greece Mr. Xiao Junzheng and the Head of the UAS Department of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) Mr.Konstantinos Diamantakos had a conversation with WUAVF Chairman about initiatives to support the local Lower Airspace Economy (LAE).

The visit to Athens ended with the commitment of WUAVF’s International Business Advisor Dr. Thomas Pfau that the Federation will make every endeavour to strengthen Greek companies in order to gain access to new markets exclusively for peaceful – commercial applications that are also within the scope of WUAVF’s activities at international level.
